A shared cost — power, housekeeping contract, a common consumable — is allocated across the departments that actually used it, on a rule the hospital sets (floor area, headcount, usage units), so a department’s monthly cost is its real cost rather than an even split. The allocation basis is kept against every entry, so a challenged figure can be traced back to the rule that produced it.
